“Ezra the Scribe brought the law of Moses before the congregation of men and women so that all could hear with understanding.” Nehemiah 8:1-2

AJL’s Jewish Teacher Resource Center (JTRCenter) houses a treasure trove of educational resources and information services at our offices in Squirrel Hill. Reference materials, textbooks, workbooks, maps, games and over a thousand video and audio resources are available at our library for loan or duplication. Holdings in Bible Studies, Early Childhood, Israel, Jewish History, Literature and Special Education bring vital resources within reach of greater Pittsburgh’s Jewish educators.

Outstanding Jewish Educators
We recognize, honor and support local Jewish educators through our partnership with the Jewish Education Service of North America (JESNA) Grinspoon-Steinhardt Awards for Excellence in Jewish Education. The awards acknowledge exceptional Jewish educators in some 50 communities in North America. The AJL selects local nominees in Day School, Religious School and Preschool categories for national recognition by JESNA.
